NewReleaseToday Launches NRT Music With Syntax Creative Partnership

NewReleaseToday has launched NRT Music, a digital label designed to provide independent Christian artists with marketing, development and release support.

The new label has entered a distribution partnership with Syntax Creative, combining NewReleaseToday’s audience and editorial platform with Syntax’s digital distribution and music-marketing infrastructure.

Founded in 2001, NewReleaseToday has built its audience through Christian music news, reviews, interviews and discovery features. NRT Music extends that work into direct artist and label services while allowing participating artists to remain independent and retain ownership of their music.

“Syntax was the missing piece to the puzzle for properly launching NRT Music,” NewReleaseToday founder Kevin McNeese said. “I’m honored to be working with Timothy and the entire Syntax Creative team as we combine their knowledge, tools and passion with our own desire to connect people to music that enriches their lives.”

The partnership gives NRT Music access to Syntax Creative’s distribution network and release infrastructure while NewReleaseToday provides branding, marketing and audience development.

Syntax Creative CEO Timothy J. Trudeau said the two companies share a long-standing interest in helping independent artists compete without requiring them to surrender control of their work.

“Like us, they’ve been working really hard for two decades to place indies on equal footing with the majors,” Trudeau said. “Combining our efforts will bring exponential opportunities for artists.”

NRT Music describes its mission as helping artists expand both their music and ministry with a focus on long-term development rather than one-off releases.

The agreement also reflects a broader shift in independent music, where artists increasingly assemble distribution, marketing and development services through specialized partners instead of signing traditional label agreements.
