Truth, beauty and goodness can coexist.
King Kulture is a publication about culture, which means we have a lot to talk about.
Music, entertainment, ideas, food, style, business, technology, faith, current events and whatever else people are making, arguing about, enjoying or trying to understand. We don’t see much value in drawing an artificial line between sacred and secular. Culture is culture, and all of it is worth examining thoughtfully.
Our perspective is Christian. That doesn’t mean every story needs a Bible verse attached to it or every writer has to reach the same conclusion. It means we believe truth exists, beauty is worth noticing and goodness is worth pursuing. Those convictions shape the questions we ask, the claims we’re willing to make and how we treat the people we write about.
Witty. Informative. Grounded.
Those three words have been part of King Kulture from the beginning.
Witty because serious thinking doesn’t require taking ourselves seriously all the time. We like smart headlines, wordplay, Easter eggs and the occasional joke that rewards paying attention.
Informative because clever isn’t enough. Whether we’re reporting news, reviewing something, explaining an idea or telling you where to eat, the goal is to leave you knowing something useful that you didn’t know before.
Grounded because none of this happens in a vacuum. Our foundation shapes how we understand people, ideas, art, business and the world around us. We want to deal honestly with facts, reason carefully, recognize what is good and beautiful wherever we find it, and criticize what deserves criticism without forgetting the humanity of the person on the other side.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. — Philippians 4:8
Different voices. One Kulture.
King Kulture isn’t supposed to sound like one person writing under a collection of bylines.
Our writers come from different backgrounds, professions, interests and areas of expertise. They won’t always agree. They shouldn’t have to. What they share is a commitment to taking their subjects seriously, dealing honestly with the facts and giving readers something worth their time.
Put all of those voices together and you get what King Kulture was always intended to be: a place where a music fan might stumble into an idea worth wrestling with, a business reader might discover an artist worth hearing, and somebody who came for a serious argument might stay for dinner.
