Something more may be happening between J Moss, PAJAM Music Group and Central South Distribution.
We’re in Nashville for the Stellar Awards this week, and the PAJAM crew has been spending a noticeable amount of time with members of the Central South team.
The two companies are not strangers. PAJAM announced last fall that its new PMG Gospel imprint would work with Central South Distribution.
Still, the amount of time the two camps are spending together this week makes us wonder whether that relationship is about to become more substantial.
PAJAM and Central South Already Have a Connection
PAJAM is the Detroit production and songwriting team built around J Moss, Paul “PDA” Allen and Walter “Stone” Kearney.
Over the years, the team has helped shape records by artists including Karen Clark Sheard, Byron Cage, Kierra Sheard, 21:03 and Marvin Sapp.
Meanwhile, Central South has continued expanding its presence in gospel music by distributing independent artists and labels looking for broader reach.
A deeper partnership between the two would make sense. PAJAM brings a substantial production history, artist-development experience and a growing label operation.
Central South, on the other hand, brings the distribution infrastructure.
For now, neither camp has announced a new agreement this week. Of course, people at awards weekends do occasionally spend time together without creating another business arrangement.
Still, this particular pairing does not feel random.
Whether the existing relationship is about to expand or the two camps are simply comparing notes, we’re interested to see what happens next.
