Lauren Talley has taken Terrian’s “Testimony” and made its declaration of grace personal. Her new version arrived Friday, Sept. 11, through Horizon Records.
Jason Webb produced the recording, which adds acoustic textures to the song’s contemporary gospel foundation. Webb and Amber Eppinette Saunders of 11th Hour also provide harmony vocals.
A Borrowed Song Becomes Lauren Talley’s Testimony
Terrian first released “Testimony” in 2025 and later recorded a version featuring CeCe Winans. The song presents a life changed by grace as evidence of what God can do.
Talley connects that declaration directly to her own history. She said she became a Christian at 8 and felt called to ministry at 12. However, she does not present everything that followed as tidy or predictable.
“I am a living, breathing, walking testimony. Those words perfectly sum up how good the Lord has been in my life,” Talley said.
She acknowledges mistakes and parts of her story she would not have written for herself. That gives her performance a more personal center than a straightforward cover meant only to showcase her voice.
‘Testimony’ Continues the Sound of ‘Walls’
The single arrives three weeks after Talley expanded her sound on Walls (Part One).
That six-song EP moved among Southern Gospel, worship, blues and contemporary Christian influences. “Testimony” continues that broader direction without belonging to the project itself.
Webb produced both releases. His arrangement gives Talley room to move further into contemporary gospel while retaining the direct vocal delivery that has defined her Southern Gospel work.
Saunders’ presence adds another connection to that world. She and Talley have worked together for years, while Saunders has also performed with 11th Hour and as the solo artist Amber Lynn.
For Talley, the song ultimately comes down to evidence rather than polish. Its central claim is not that she has lived perfectly, but that her life reflects grace working through a story she could not completely control.
