Every Moment Holy: Prayer Songs is narrowing its focus for its next quarterly release.
2026 Q3: Anchoring the Heart in Hope arrives Aug. 28 with 14 songs centered on death, grief and the hope of redemption. It marks the third release in the music series based on Douglas Kaine McKelvey’s Every Moment Holy books. For the first time, the series devotes an entire installment to a single subject.
McKelvey and Unspoken’s Jon Lowry co-wrote the project, while Lowry also produced it. The songs draw from a prayer cycle in Every Moment Holy: Death, Grief & Hope, the second volume in McKelvey’s book series.
“We wanted these songs to be personal expressions relevant to any Christ-follower enduring a season of struggle,” McKelvey said. “But during the songwriting process we had a particular passion that they might become a source of deep comfort and anchoring encouragement to individuals navigating the end of life, as well as for those who might be caring for a dying loved one, or ministering in a hospice situation.”
A Prayer Cycle Built to Linger
Rather than assemble a collection of disconnected songs, McKelvey and Lowry structured the album as a 14-part movement. Still, individual tracks can stand on their own. Those include “Convince Me,” “Let Visions of Our Pending Joy” and “O My Soul Be Anchored.”
The recordings also work differently from a conventional album. Like the first two Every Moment Holy: Prayer Songs releases, each song loops seamlessly on repeat. As a result, listeners can remain with one prayer or idea for an extended period.
“In the end, these are truths that each of our hearts might dwell on and be shaped by, in any season of life,” McKelvey said. “Our hope for these songs is that they might serve to wear permanent grooves in the souls of those who meditate on them, such that in their hours of need, these ready expressions will arise in their memories as channels along which grace and hope and joy and prayer might flow.”
The series began earlier this year with the 20-song 2026 Q1. Then, the 10-song 2026 Q2 followed in May. Those collections drew from a wider range of prayers about meals, road trips, stargazing, bedtime, communion, worship and other familiar parts of life.
This fall, McKelvey and Lowry will also take part in Every Moment Holy: The Live Experience alongside illustrator Ned Bustard and other musical guests. The presentation combines music, storytelling and prayers from the books. The tour begins Aug. 28 and will visit multiple U.S. cities.
