StowTown Records is moving its global digital distribution to Syntax Creative. The deal brings the label’s catalog and artist roster into a single distribution system.
The agreement covers a roster that includes The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, TaRanda Greene, Charles Billingsley and The Erwins.
StowTown Records Director of A&R Mary Alice Lovelace said the move will help the label bring its music to churches and the broader music market with greater consistency.
“Syntax is a leader in the digital distribution space and a company of great integrity,” Lovelace said. “We look forward to partnering with them in this new endeavor.”
The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir Catalog Comes Together
The deal also brings The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir’s decades-spanning discography under one label and distribution partner for the first time.
The choir won its seventh Grammy Award in 2026 for I Will Not Be Moved: Live with The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. The win also marked StowTown Records’ first Grammy.
StowTown President and CEO Landon Beene said the company wants to preserve the choir’s catalog while making it easier for listeners to find across digital platforms.
“The music of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir has been a household name for decades and a gift to the Church,” Beene said. “By bringing the entire catalog under one label and one distribution partner, we can preserve this legacy.”
Beene said the partnership with Syntax will also help keep the catalog accessible for future generations.
StowTown Moves Into the Syntax System
Syntax Creative CEO Timothy Trudeau said the opportunity goes beyond simply adding another label to the company’s distribution roster.
“While this is an exciting new partnership for Syntax Creative, it isn’t about the hype, it’s about getting it right,” Trudeau said. “This music already has reach.”
With the catalog together, Trudeau said Syntax can “maximize every square inch” of it and give the music the attention it deserves.
StowTown launched in 2011 and works across Southern Gospel, gospel, inspirational and worship music. Its roster also includes David Phelps, Booth Brothers, Triumphant Quartet, Legacy Five, The Perrys and The Kramers.
The company has also expanded through StowTown Worship Resource. That division works with The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, Prestonwood Worship, Rock Springs Worship and other church worship collectives.
Syntax Creative represents the exclusive worldwide digital rights to music from more than 150 record labels across multiple genres.
