Syntax Creative Adds Turnberry Records

Syntax Creative has entered a distribution partnership with Turnberry Records, a California-based label working across bluegrass, country and Americana.

Founded by Keith Barnacastle, Turnberry Records was built around a flexible, artist-centered approach. The label aims to help musicians reach broader audiences without limiting their long-term options.

“We work with our artists to develop a vision for their art,” Barnacastle said. “The team at Syntax allows them to be ‘all in’ with every release, which is the perfect complement to our approach.”

Turnberry Records Brings a Roots-Music Roster

The label’s upcoming releases include “Be Good to My Little Baby Girl,” a collaboration between Darren Beachley and Caleb Bailey scheduled for Sept. 29.

Beachley previously performed with Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver. His time with the group included both bluegrass and gospel recordings.

Bailey and his band, Paine’s Run, have also released bluegrass gospel music through Turnberry. Their recent single “Hard Working Country Preacher Man” arrived in July.

Syntax Creative CEO Timothy J. Trudeau said Turnberry’s emphasis on musicianship made the label a natural addition to the company’s roster.

“We’re pleased to add Turnberry to our growing roster of incredible independents,” Trudeau said. “Their commitment to excellent artistry is a welcome addition.”

Syntax Adds Distribution Behind Turnberry’s Artist Model

Turnberry’s approach is built around giving artists room to develop their music while remaining flexible about their careers.

Under the partnership, Syntax Creative will provide digital distribution, marketing and release support. Meanwhile, Turnberry will continue developing its roster and shaping releases around individual artists.

The agreement gives Turnberry broader distribution infrastructure without replacing the artist-centered model the label has already built.

“Helping artists cultivate a strong following is at the core of what we do,” Syntax Creative marketing coordinator Erin Moorman said. “We’re thrilled to have the privilege to serve Turnberry and their artists in this way.”
