Shopé takes “Don’t Let Me Stop” on the road in a new music video about pursuing a calling without abandoning the people waiting at home.
The Toronto rapper spends much of the video traveling, performing and moving toward the next opportunity. Those images reflect the less visible side of building a music career: long drives, missed time at home and the persistent question of whether the destination justifies everything required to reach it.
For Shopé, the answer is not permission to sacrifice his family in the name of ministry.
The video presents his public and private responsibilities as parts of the same calling. His desire to make disciples and become a positive role model is tied to the health of his home life, not placed above it. The road may be where the work happens, but it cannot become an excuse to neglect the people who make the work sustainable.
That gives the song’s title another dimension. “Don’t Let Me Stop” is partly about persevering through discouragement, but it is also a request for accountability. Shopé wants the people closest to him to push him forward while helping him remember what success is supposed to look like.
The imagery of the journey reinforces that tension. Every mile brings him closer to his professional goals, but distance also carries a cost. The video does not pretend those realities are easily balanced. It simply refuses the idea that faithfulness in public can excuse failure in private.
“Don’t Let Me Stop” appears on Shopé’s forthcoming self-titled EP, his first project since retiring the name Spoken. The five-song release is due Aug. 26 through Role Model Records.
