Skillet and Third Day apparently enjoy touring together enough to keep doing it after The Roadshow ends.
The two bands will co-headline The Roadshow when the annual tour returns Jan. 9 in Sacramento, California. They have now announced plans to continue together for 20 additional dates during the spring.
The extended Skillet and Third Day tour begins Feb. 27 in Toledo, Ohio. Mandisa, Brandon Heath, Jamie Grace, Peter Furler and We As Human will join the two headliners on select dates.
That is enough artists to make “opening act” feel like an inadequate job description.
Skillet and Third Day Lead The Roadshow
Before the spring run begins, Skillet and Third Day will lead the sixth annual edition of The Roadshow.
The arena tour also features Andy Mineo, Jamie Grace and Royal Tailor. Soulfire Revolution, We As Human, The Neverclaim and Vertical Church Band round out the lineup.
MercyMe, which helped create The Roadshow, is taking the year off. That leaves Skillet and Third Day in charge of a tour designed to bring several styles of music together while keeping admission affordable.
Tickets cost $10 when purchased at a venue box office or at the door. Online and phone tickets cost $20 without additional service fees.
The Roadshow travels through 22 markets before concluding Feb. 16 in Salt Lake City.
The Skillet Third Day Tour Continues This Spring
After a brief break, Skillet and Third Day will return to the road together.
The announcement describes the spring extension as a 20-date tour. Seventeen dates have been released so far, with additional stops expected.

Skillet Returns From a Successful Year Overseas
The announcement arrives as Skillet returns from an extended run overseas.
The band opened for Nickelback during a European tour and followed it with six sold-out headlining performances in Russia.
Meanwhile, “Not Gonna Die,” from Skillet’s current album, Rise, remains at No. 1 on the Christian rock chart for a third week. The song is also climbing the mainstream Active Rock chart.
Rise debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and reached No. 1 on Billboard’s rock and Christian album charts.
Skillet could probably justify taking a break after that kind of year.
Instead, the band is beginning 2014 with The Roadshow and following it with another 20 dates alongside Third Day.
