Grace & Xandy Find Their Own Voice on ‘Here Again’

Grace & Xandy are stepping beyond the hymns and classics that introduced them with Here Again, their first full-length album for StowTown Records.

Released Aug. 21, the 10-song project combines newly written material with the sisters’ interpretations of familiar songs. David Michael Jeremiah executive produced the album, while Uriel Vega handled production.

The shift gives Grace Anne Jeremiah Baker and Xandy Jeremiah more room to define themselves beyond the musical tradition that shaped their 2024 debut, The Promise.

‘Here Again’ Begins With an Honest Prayer

Xandy Jeremiah wrote the title track during a difficult personal season when prayer itself had become hard to articulate.

“‘Here Again’ came from a deeply personal season of struggle when I found it hard to even put prayers into words,” Xandy said. “Sitting at the piano I began to sing honestly about how I felt. Within an hour, the song was written.”

The song begins quietly before expanding into the sisters’ close harmonies and a more hopeful chorus.

For Xandy, the point was not to pretend the struggle had disappeared.

“It captures the reality of being in a hard place but ends with hope, knowing that no matter how many times I find myself ‘here again,’ God’s strength will carry me through.”

That tension between difficulty and gratitude runs through much of the album.

Grace & Xandy Mix Originals With Familiar Songs

Here Again opens with the country-leaning “Counting My Blessings.”

Another original, “Thorns,” was written by Lee Black, Kenna Turner West and Tony Wood. Producer Uriel Vega also appears on saxophone.

Elsewhere, the sisters take on “I Can Only Imagine,” “Gratitude” and “Praise The Lord Forever.”

The album closes with their version of Sons of Sunday’s “One More Day.” Grace said the song reflects the project’s larger emphasis on gratitude.

“It’s a heartfelt expression of gratitude to Jesus for saving us and giving us each new day,” Grace said. “It reflects the central theme of the album, thankfulness in all things, and reminds us that nothing compares to Him.”

StowTown Gives the Sisters a Broader Platform

Grace & Xandy grew up singing together at Shadow Mountain Community Church in Southern California.

The congregation is pastored by their grandfather, David Jeremiah, founder of Turning Point Ministries. That background has naturally connected the sisters to church music, but Here Again gives them more space to develop an identity of their own.

Their 2024 album The Promise centered on hymns and established songs of faith, including “Great Is Thy Faithfulness,” “In Christ Alone” and “How Great Thou Art.”

Here Again keeps that foundation while adding more original material and a broader contemporary sound.

StowTown Records President and CEO Landon Beene said the sisters’ connection to that ministry heritage has not prevented them from developing their own direction.

“Their genuine spirit, love for others, and sincerity shine through every note they sing,” Beene said. “It has been beautiful to watch these young women grow up surrounded by the powerful ministry legacy of their grandfather, Dr. David Jeremiah, while remaining true to their own calling.”

For Grace & Xandy, Here Again is a chance to build on the foundation of The Promise while showing more clearly what their own music can sound like.
