The 2022 Dove Awards nominations are in, and Matthew West and Maverick City Music are leading the artist field.
Both received seven nominations for the 53rd Annual GMA Dove Awards. Anne Wilson, For King & Country and Phil Wickham follow with six nominations each, while Brandon Lake and CeCe Winans received five apiece.
Songwriter and producer Jeff Pardo leads all nominees with nine. Ben Glover, Jeff Sojka and Jonathan Smith also received six nominations, ensuring that several people behind the year’s biggest songs will spend awards night doing nearly as much walking as the artists who recorded them.
This year’s nominees were selected from more than 2,000 entries submitted across Christian and gospel music. The ballot spans contemporary Christian music, gospel, worship, rap, Southern Gospel, bluegrass, country and roots music.
The Artist of the Year category brings together CeCe Winans, For King & Country, Maverick City Music, We The Kingdom and Zach Williams. New Artist of the Year nominees include Anne Wilson, Blessing Offor, DOE, Jordan St. Cyr and Ryan Ellis.
