Nik Ryan reaches the end of his own strength on “Have Mercy,” his second single through NRT Music.
Ryan wrote the Christian pop song with Coby James and Michael McCray. What began as a prayer became a song about surrendering the search for answers that cannot satisfy.
Loneliness and regret remain part of the story. However, “Have Mercy” does not leave Ryan there. The song moves toward grace as he releases his need for control and trusts God to finish what He started.
‘Have Mercy’ Continues Nik Ryan’s Introduction
The new release follows “All In,” Ryan’s NRT Music debut. Together, the two singles introduce an artist writing openly about struggle without treating faith as an easy answer.
Ryan began moving toward professional recording after attending a Nashville songwriting retreat in 2025. He later entered the studio with James and developed a sound that combines modern Christian pop with alternative influences.
Based in Richmond, Virginia, Ryan draws from personal trials, family experiences and the faith that carried him through them. On “Have Mercy,” that background produces a simple conclusion: surrender begins when striving finally stops.
