At only 16, Josh Grove already understands how exhausting it can be to live at full speed. His new single, “I’m Done Running,” offers another way forward: slow down, surrender and trust God.
Available now through NRT Music, the contemporary Christian pop song draws inspiration from Psalm 46:10 and Matthew 11:28-30. Both passages point toward stillness and the rest found in God’s presence.
Choosing stillness over striving
Grove wrote “I’m Done Running,” while Eric Haley produced the track. Its energetic pop production contrasts with a message about stepping away from fear, pressure and the need to control every outcome.
The song opens by questioning whether someone moving through life too quickly can recognize the signs God has placed around them. Grove eventually turns that restlessness into a declaration against fear: “Fear, you are dead to me.”
Rather than treating surrender as defeat, Grove presents it as freedom. The song’s central idea is simple: moving forward sometimes begins with becoming still.

“I’m Done Running” follows Grove’s August worship single, “Trust (Psalm 13).” Earlier in 2026, he released the rock-oriented “New Life” and “Hope,” along with “Rain or Shine,” a collaboration with Christian hip-hop veteran KJ-52.
According to NRT Music, “Rain or Shine” reached No. 1 on the Christian Music Weekly CHH/Rhythmic Chart. Grove’s earlier songs have also received recognition from several songwriting competitions. “Holy Flame” became a finalist in the Unsigned Only Music Awards, while “A Mighty Thanks” received national radio exposure through the syndicated Weekend Top 20 Countdown.
Grove serves as a worship leader and children’s ministry volunteer at his Michigan church. In addition, he signed a publishing administration agreement with Kingdom Impact Group in 2026.
Despite his age, Grove has already explored worship, pop, rock and rhythmic music. “I’m Done Running” brings those instincts together in a song about releasing fear and finding peace in Jesus.
