Desi Raines Turns One Note Into Five Songs

Desi Raines turns one note into five connected songs on “1Note,” his label debut with NRT Music.

The six-and-a-half-minute release moves through reverence, victory, vulnerability, surrender and the decision to value God’s presence over recognition. However, listeners will not find those ideas separated into individual tracks. Raines presents them as one uninterrupted piece.

Five Songs Become One Continuous Track

“1Note” began as a studio challenge celebrating producer Tyler Moody’s 1,000th beat. Raines and Moody started with a question: How many songs could they create using a single note?

The result is what Raines calls “an EP disguised as one song.” Each of its five movements develops a different part of his relationship with God before flowing directly into the next.

“I wanted people to sit with it and metabolize the music as a complete experience instead of consuming it one track at a time,” Raines said.

The format draws inspiration from listening to vinyl records and cassette tapes, when an album side encouraged listeners to experience songs in sequence. Although “1Note” arrives as a digital single, Raines uses its continuous structure to resist the habit of skipping ahead.

That choice also gives the music time to change. Worshipful declarations give way to personal reflection before the track arrives at surrender. Instead of treating those ideas as five unrelated statements, “1Note” presents them as stages within the same spiritual journey.

‘1Note’ Opens Desi Raines’ NRT Music Chapter

Originally from Atlanta and now based in Dallas, Raines brings experience in songwriting, worship ministry and touring to his new partnership with NRT Music.

His background includes writing and performing with North Point Worship and FRVR FREE. He has also toured as a background vocalist for Crowder.

That experience places Raines at the intersection of worship, Christian R&B and hip-hop. Still, “1Note” does not sound like an attempt to introduce every part of his résumé at once. Its focus remains on one idea developed patiently.

Raines joins an NRT Music roster that recently surpassed 35 artists and 8 million lifetime streams. Additional music from Raines is already planned for early 2027.
