The Roses short film follows Jessica, a young woman adjusting to life after a stroke leaves her blind.
As she struggles with the shock and emotions surrounding the change, Jessica has an unexpected encounter with Kevin, an older man she meets on a bus.
Kevin initially appears to be a stranger who has entered Jessica’s life by chance. However, he carries a painful secret of his own.
As the two get to know each other, difficult questions and forgotten memories begin to surface. Eventually, Kevin must confront parts of his past while Jessica wrestles with how to move forward.
The story centers on forgiveness, redemption and faith without separating those ideas from the personal losses facing both characters.
Rachel Hendrix, known for October Baby, stars as Jessica. Gregory Alan Williams, whose credits include Remember the Titans, plays Kevin.
Roses is scheduled for release in late spring 2014.
