Syntax Creative has added Gray Artist Services, 403 Music and Sound Biscuit to its distribution roster, bringing three distinct artist-service operations into the company’s network.
The partnerships reflect a music-business model increasingly built around flexible service agreements rather than conventional label deals. Each company works directly with independent artists while providing some combination of development, consulting, management, marketing, production and release support.
“Each of these companies brings its own unique flavor to how they help artists,” Syntax Creative CEO Timothy J. Trudeau said. “By joining forces, we’re confident we will amplify their reach and increase their footprint in the marketplace.”
Gray Artist Services
Founded in 2019 by Jim Gray, Nashville-based Gray Artist Services works with independent artists on career development, management and marketing.
“We’re always seeking new ways to support our artists,” Gray said. “By teaming up with Syntax, we can leverage their expertise, resources and relationships to continue growing and fostering our artists to new heights.”
Recent releases from the company include Caleb Carpenter’s “Forfeit” and Neighbor’s “Shine.”
403 Music
403 Music is a consulting, publishing and management company serving artists, churches and ministries. Its work centers on developing songs and resources for the local church while helping artists steward their careers.
“Syntax Creative has proven its success in niche genres,” founder Craig Dunnagan said. “We value the experience and resources they bring to the table for us.”
Recent 403 Music releases include Southern Steeple’s “Undivided Attention” and Kids Sing Praise’s recording of “God So Loved.”
Sound Biscuit
Sound Biscuit operates as both a recording studio and independent label in Sevierville, Tennessee. The company focuses on production and artist development, helping musicians shape their recordings and broader career goals.
“The digital space opens up a world of new potential for an artist,” founder Dave Maggard said. “Joining forces with Syntax opens up new avenues for us to connect with listeners and share our music globally.”
Sound Biscuit’s recent releases include “Another Train” by Kenny Stinson & Perfect Tym’n.
The three agreements broaden the kinds of businesses working through Syntax Creative, extending beyond traditional labels to companies that assemble customized teams and services around individual artists.
