The 2023 Grammy nominations are in, and Beyoncé is once again leading the field.
She earned nine nominations, including Album of the Year for Renaissance and Record and Song of the Year for “Break My Soul.” Kendrick Lamar follows with eight nominations, while Adele and Brandi Carlile received seven each.
The Album of the Year field also includes ABBA, Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, Coldplay, Lizzo and Harry Styles. Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti became the first Spanish-language album nominated in the category, giving this year’s ballot a genuinely international reach rather than simply a well-traveled guest list.
The general field includes familiar Grammy favorites alongside several first-time nominees. Adele returns with “Easy on Me,” Lizzo earned nominations for “About Damn Time,” and Steve Lacy’s “Bad Habit” appears in both the record and song categories.
Gospel and Christian music nominees include Maverick City Music, Kirk Franklin, Tye Tribbett, Erica Campbell, DOE, Crowder, For King & Country, Hillary Scott, Chandler Moore, Chris Tomlin, TobyMac, Anne Wilson, Elevation Worship and the Gaither Vocal Band.

The Record of the Year category includes pop, rap, R&B, rock and an ABBA single arriving nearly half a century after the group first began collecting international hits. Some comebacks take longer than others, but apparently the Grammy ballot keeps the porch light on.
