J Moss has released the music video for “Alright OK,” an upbeat reminder that difficult circumstances do not get the final word.
The single arrived in May through PMG Records and marked Moss’ first new release ahead of his next album. Written by Moss and longtime PAJAM collaborator Paul “PDA” Allen, the song trades the dramatic build of a traditional gospel ballad for an easy, rhythmic groove and a chorus designed to stick around after the music stops.
“Alright OK” does not deny that life can become complicated. Instead, Moss approaches reassurance as a decision, repeating the title until it begins to sound less like a casual response and more like a declaration.
The video matches that energy. Rather than weighing the song down with an elaborate narrative, director Paul Allen keeps the focus on Moss, movement and the record’s bright disposition. It is the visual equivalent of someone answering a difficult week by opening the blinds and turning the speakers up.
The song would later appear on Grown Folks Gospel, alongside collaborations with Faith Evans, PJ Morton, Fred Hammond and Moss’ group, 21:03.
For now, “Alright OK” works perfectly well on its own: part encouragement, part groove and proof that optimism does not always have to arrive at ballad speed.
