Wess Morgan offers another preview of his forthcoming album, Livin’, with “Lord You’ve Been So Good to Me.”
The song follows “You Paid It All,” another track from Morgan’s fourth studio album. While the earlier single builds toward a sweeping declaration of sacrifice and gratitude, “Lord You’ve Been So Good to Me” settles into a warmer gospel groove and lets Morgan testify without rushing him toward the final chorus.
That approach suits a singer whose greatest strength is not merely vocal power. Instead, Morgan gives the impression that every phrase has been lived in before it was recorded.
As the arrangement gradually expands around him, he moves between restraint and full-throated praise.
