Stryper Sets Nashville Premiere for ‘Throne of Thorns’

Stryper will give 70 fans an early listen to Throne of Thorns during a one-night event Wednesday, Aug. 26, at the Museum of Christian & Gospel Music in downtown Nashville.

The band will play its upcoming album in full nearly a month before its Sept. 25 worldwide release through Frontiers Music Srl.

Frontman Michael Sweet will provide track-by-track commentary during the listening session, sharing stories about the songs and the creative process behind them.

Stryper Will Preview ‘Throne of Thorns’ a Month Early

The event begins at 5 p.m. and is built around more than simply playing the record over a sound system.

Fans will hear all 11 tracks from Throne of Thorns before the album reaches stores and streaming services.

The evening will also include an advance screening of a new Stryper music video before its public release.

“I could not be more excited than to be able to come to Music City and hold our record release party for Throne of Thorns at the Museum of Christian & Gospel Music,” Sweet said.

Sweet described the gathering as an opportunity to hear the album together and revisit the band’s history inside the museum.

Rare Stryper Memorabilia Will Join the New Music

The event also includes a temporary Stryper exhibit featuring memorabilia and artifacts collected across more than four decades.

Brett Christensen, Stryper’s official historian, helped assemble the collection.

“These items come from an extraordinary collection assembled over the past 40 years, with treasures carefully sourced from around the world,” Christensen said.

Some pieces came from individual purchases, while others were acquired as part of larger collections.

In addition, attendees will have access to a meet-and-greet, professional photo opportunity and autograph session with the band.

Dinner, dessert and nonalcoholic drinks from Lady Bird Taco Bar are also included.

Tickets Include Museum Admission and Exclusive Items

Each ticket includes admission to the Museum of Christian & Gospel Music, a commemorative museum gift and a collectible event laminate and lanyard.

Fans will also be able to purchase Throne of Thorns merchandise, including a limited-edition event poster.

Recording devices will not be permitted during the album listening session or video presentation because the material has not yet been released publicly.

The Museum of Christian & Gospel Music lists the event for Wednesday, Aug. 26, in Nashville.

Throne of Thorns will follow on Sept. 25 as Stryper’s 18th studio album.

The record features Michael Sweet on lead vocals and guitar, Robert Sweet on drums, Oz Fox on guitar and Perry Richardson on bass.

Its 11-song track list includes the title track, “Here In Your Heart,” “I’m Alright (I’m Okay),” “Carry The Flame,” “Hollywood” and “Shadowbreaker.”

Tickets are available through the Museum of Christian & Gospel Music event ticket page.
