Presence Music and SAPHIRE Bring Depression Into the Light on ‘Mess of Mine’

Presence Music and SAPHIRE are putting words to the struggles people often work hardest to hide.

Their new single, “Mess of Mine,” addresses depression, anxiety and the familiar pressure to tell everyone you’re fine when life feels anything but.

Leah Monson wrote the song, with Tyler Moody producing. Rather than offering a tidy resolution, “Mess of Mine” acknowledges that healing can take time while emphasizing God’s presence in the middle of the struggle.

“This song is for anyone who’s ever felt like they had to hide what they were really going through,” Presence Music said. “Our prayer is that people would know they don’t have to clean themselves up before coming to God. He won’t wait for the struggle to end. He’ll be there in the middle of it.”

SAPHIRE joins Presence Music on the track, bringing another voice to a song built around vulnerability rather than easy answers.

The release follows Presence Music’s recent single “Found in the Hurt,” which the group says has surpassed 1 million combined streams and video views.

Presence Music is part of the NRT Music roster, which recently marked its second anniversary with more than 8 million lifetime streams and more than 250 releases. King Kulture recently took a closer look at the label’s growth and artist-development strategy.
