Chosen Road will release its first full-length album in three years, American Morning, on July 3 through Thoroughbred Records.
The project brings together songs previously released on the group’s American Morning: Side A and American Morning: Side B EPs, along with the newly recorded closing track “I Love This Land.”
Produced by Dave Clark and executive produced by Chosen Road founding member Jonathan Buckner, the album blends the group’s traditional bluegrass foundation with gospel, country and Americana influences.
Several songs center on everyday work, family life and gratitude. “People” and “Life in America” celebrate simple pleasures and homespun values, while “First Greatest Wonder” and “A God Thing” explore the spiritual convictions behind the collection.
The album also includes several tributes to military service and the sacrifices made by veterans and their families. Those songs include “’Til They Came Home,” “Daddy Was a Navy Man” and “Dreaming in Red, White, and Blue.”
“The songs on American Morning celebrate the sacrifices that secured our freedom, the families that built this nation, and the faith that has sustained generations of Americans through every trial and triumph,” Buckner said. “It’s one of the most personal records we’ve ever made because it comes from a place of conviction.”
Buckner said the band hopes the collection encourages listeners to appreciate the freedoms, families and faith traditions that have shaped the country.
“More than anything, we hope these songs remind people to be thankful for the freedoms we enjoy, the families we cherish, and the God who has blessed this nation from generation to generation,” he said.
Daywind Music Group President Ed Leonard said the album reflects both Chosen Road’s patriotic perspective and its Christian ministry.
“Jonathan and the guys have created a great record that not only celebrates this great land we call America, but they have also given us songs that celebrate our Savior,” Leonard said.
Founded in West Virginia, Chosen Road consists of Buckner, Zach Alvis, Tyler Robertson, Chris Stockwell and Bradly Parsons. The group’s previous releases include the Billboard-charting bluegrass albums It Never Gets Old and Appalachian Christmas.
