Swoope apparently has room for a few more players on “#SameTeam.”
The Collision Records rapper has released a remix of the Sinema track with Jackie Hill Perry, Taelor Gray, KB, JGivens, Alex Faith and KIDD joining the lineup.
The original “#SameTeam” appears on Swoope’s new album, Sinema, which arrived Aug. 5. The concept album follows his 2012 Collision Records debut, Wake Up, and builds its songs around a larger narrative about desire, temptation and sin.
For the remix, Swoope turns the idea of being on the same team into something closer to an all-star roster. Hill Perry and JGivens represent Humble Beast, KB comes from the Reach Records camp, Alex Faith joins his Collision labelmate, and KIDD represents Infiltrate Music. Taelor Gray rounds out the featured verses.
The accompanying video keeps expanding the guest list. Sho Baraka, Datin, Sean Simmonds, HillaryJane, Stephen the Levite and Isaiah Tate are among the additional artists who make appearances.
CTZN Creative filmed the video, giving the crowded collaboration an appropriately communal visual treatment.
With six added emcees and even more familiar faces showing up on screen, “#SameTeam” takes its title pretty literally.
