Reach Records Finds a New Day at Christian Retail

Reach Records has signed a new distribution agreement with New Day Christian Distributors for the CBA retail market.

The deal gives the Atlanta-based hip-hop label a new partner for Christian retail. It also arrives as Reach prepares new releases from Tedashii and Lecrae.

New Day President Michael Turner said the company had followed Reach’s growth for years.

“I love hip-hop, and my sons are Reach fans,” Turner said. “I have been inspired by what Reach has accomplished as a label over the last decade and have always felt they would be a natural fit for New Day.”

Reach Records Expands Its Christian Retail Distribution

Reach Records co-founder Ben Washer said New Day’s work with independent labels made the company attractive as Reach planned its next releases.

“In the past few years, New Day has been making noise in the industry providing a great platform for independent labels to the CBA market,” Washer said. “This year we will have some incredible new projects coming out, and we are ready to get creative with their fantastic team to continue creating a platform for our artists.”

The agreement comes as Reach continues to expand beyond its original Christian hip-hop audience.

At the same time, the label still has a strong presence in Christian retail. New Day gives Reach a distributor that already knows that market and the stores serving it.

The partnership also gives Reach another way to support physical releases while its artists continue reaching listeners across broader music markets.

Tedashii and Lecrae Lead the Upcoming Release Schedule

Tedashii will be among the first Reach artists supported through the new arrangement.

His fourth solo album, Below Paradise, is scheduled for release May 27. Lecrae is also preparing a new studio album for later this year.

Ben Washer and Lecrae founded Reach Records in 2003. The label’s current roster includes Lecrae, Andy Mineo, Tedashii, Trip Lee and KB.

The New Day agreement gives those artists another route into Christian bookstores. It also strengthens Reach’s ability to operate in both Christian and mainstream music markets.
