Godsey Media Renews Distribution Partnership With Syntax Creative

Godsey Media has renewed its distribution partnership with Syntax Creative, bringing previously unavailable Southern Gospel and Christian country recordings to digital platforms for the first time.

The Nashville-area company has expanded into a full-service record label, recording studio and television production facility under the leadership of founder Scott Godsey.

“We are ecstatic about locking arms with Syntax,” Godsey said. “I come into this partnership already very familiar with their track record, but what excites me the most is connecting our legacy artists, and their digitally unreleased material, with what Syntax immediately brings to the table.”

Godsey said Syntax Creative’s established relationships with major digital services would make historically significant recordings easier for listeners to find and hear.

The partnership will also cover new music from Godsey Media’s roster. The company is developing projects from Legacy Five and The Nelons, two of Southern Gospel’s most established groups.

“We are also very excited about our newly recorded material from several new artists that we will be releasing in the near future,” Godsey said.

“I’ve known Scott and his team for a long time now,” Syntax Creative CEO Timothy Trudeau said. “He’s a gifted entrepreneur, and I’m excited to continue our work together, especially on his new venture.”

Trudeau pointed to Godsey Media’s combination of recording, television and radio resources as an advantage for its artists.

“He has one of the finest recording studios in Middle Tennessee, a full-service television studio, a radio network and many other platforms that will be unveiled along the way,” Trudeau said. “We are just one of the many tools that his artists will benefit from.”

Legacy Catalogs Arrive on Digital Platforms

The first group of catalog releases includes work from comedian, singer-songwriter and speaker Aaron Wilburn, a Grammy nominee, Dove Award winner and 2005 inductee into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame.

Additional recordings entering the digital market include music from pianist Jeff Stice, who helped establish Perfect Heart and later performed with Triumphant Quartet.

The catalog rollout also includes Christian country and Southern Gospel recordings from Jim Sheldon, known as “The Positive Cowboy,” along with Bev McCann and The Music City Quartet.

Godsey Media operates from a multiuse facility outside Nashville equipped for audio recording, video production and photography. The company works across artist management, production and content development with the goal of building both audiences and revenue for its roster.

The renewed partnership begins with new music from The Freemans. “Til the End” is available now.
