John Chisum is taking Song Revolution from podcast feeds to television screens this fall.

Song Revolution with John Chisum will premiere Sept. 5 on Cornerstone Television Network with a 13-episode run built around conversations with artists, songwriters, producers and worship leaders.

The first episode features singer-songwriter and former American Idol runner-up Clark Beckham. Cornerstone plans to air the show at 3 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. ET on Saturdays.

‘Song Revolution’ Expands Beyond the Podcast

Chisum launched the Song Revolution podcast in 2017 through Nashville Christian Songwriters.

Since then, the show has grown to more than 200 episodes and featured guests including Bear Rinehart of NEEDTOBREATHE, Kari Jobe, Leanna Crawford and Cody Carnes.

The television version keeps the same basic idea while giving viewers a chance to see the conversations and performances.

“We’ve been podcasting since 2017, but leveling up to television brings exciting new dimensions to the people and music we love so much,” Chisum said.

For Chisum, the format remains centered on the people behind the songs.

“I hope viewers will see that behind every song is a story, and behind every story is a real human songwriter who lived some part of that song.”

Don Moen, Tommee Profitt and Kathy Troccoli Join the First Season

Cornerstone’s fall run will feature a broad group of guests from across Christian music and related creative fields.

Scheduled guests include worship pioneer Don Moen, producer and composer Tommee Profitt, Kathy Troccoli, Meredith Andrews, Jordan Smith and Broadway actress and singer Laura Osnes.

Chisum also brings his own long music-industry history to the conversations.

Before founding Nashville Christian Songwriters in 2015, he worked in song development and copyright at Integrity Music and later served as vice president of publishing at Star Song Communications.

His songs have been recorded by artists including the Gaither Vocal Band, Ron Kenoly, Steve Green, Larnelle Harris and The Cathedrals.

Cornerstone Adds the Series to Its Fall Schedule

Cornerstone Television Network has been broadcasting Christian programming since 1979 from the Pittsburgh area.

The network carries both original and outside programming across broadcast television and streaming platforms.

David Tucker, Cornerstone’s director of programming, said Chisum’s background helped distinguish the show.

“The content is fresh and goes deeper than most with John’s keen music insight to ask the compelling questions needed for an engaging interview,” Tucker said.

The television expansion also extends the mission of Nashville Christian Songwriters, which Chisum founded to provide coaching and resources for Christian artists and songwriters.

For Song Revolution, however, the move is simpler: after nearly a decade of audio conversations, viewers will finally be able to watch them unfold.
