Anne Elise is entering a new season with NCS Records. The Nashville Christian Songwriters label announced her signing Friday, the same day she released “Changing,” an upbeat pop-country song about moving forward when the future is unclear.
The Belmont University student previously recorded with Ezra Worship Initiative. Now, “Changing” introduces the sound she is developing under her own name.
‘Changing’ Grew From a Move to Nashville
Anne Elise began thinking about transition after leaving Alabama for Nashville. Instead of treating uncertainty as something to overcome immediately, the song recognizes that growth often happens while the outcome remains unknown.
“‘Changing’ was written as a reminder that change is inevitable and we can choose to grow alongside it,” Anne Elise said.
The lyrics follow the passage of time from spring blooms to winter snow. Against that seasonal imagery, Anne Elise considers the tension between holding onto what feels familiar and trusting God with what comes next.
The arrangement supports that idea with a relaxed shuffle, acoustic guitar and banjo. Ryan Wilson produced the recording, while longtime Rascal Flatts band member Devin Malone contributed guitar and banjo.

From Ezra Worship to NCS Records
Anne Elise’s connection with Nashville Christian Songwriters began through the Ezra Worship Initiative, where she studied songwriting with organization founder John Chisum. She later appeared on Ezra Worship’s Great and Glorious God EP.
NCS Records Director of Label Operations and A&R Claire Bacon said that progression reflects the organization’s goal of helping young songwriters develop their voices and bring their own material into the studio.
NCS Records is distributed by NRT Music, which recently marked its second anniversary with a growing independent Christian music roster.
