Propaganda has released the music video for “Crimson Cord,” the title track from his forthcoming album of the same name.
The video arrives three weeks before Crimson Cord is scheduled for release through Humble Beast on April 29.
Propaganda has built much of his work around the intersection of hip-hop, spoken word, theology and social commentary. “Crimson Cord” continues that approach, using dense imagery and layered writing rather than treating the title track as a simple introduction to the album.

The song gives listeners an early look at the themes and tone Propaganda is bringing into the new project.
Crimson Cord follows his 2012 album Excellent. Beautiful Eulogy handled the production for the new project, continuing the musical partnership behind Propaganda’s previous album.
The “Crimson Cord” video was directed by Isaac Dowell and released through Humble Beast.
Rather than separating poetry from rap, Propaganda continues to move between the two. That approach has become a defining part of his music, especially when the subject calls for more room than a traditional verse-and-hook structure might allow.
