Plumb combines live performance, studio footage and on-screen lyrics in the new music video for “Need You Now.”
The song’s message of desperation and hope remains at the center, but the video gives it the scale of Plumb’s live show.
Footage was captured across several concert stops using small, GoPro-style cameras mounted throughout the stage. Cameras were attached to Plumb’s chest, wrist and microphone, as well as the drummer, a guitar and equipment around the stage.
Additional cameras were placed in the audience. The result creates angles that would have been difficult to capture with a conventional concert setup.
Plumb Puts Viewers in the Middle of the Show
The video moves between tightly framed performance footage, studio scenes, lyrics and wider crowd shots.
That approach puts viewers close to the stage without simply turning “Need You Now” into another concert recording.
The production also fits a song that has continued reaching new listeners well beyond its original release.
“Need You Now,” also known as “Need You Now (How Many Times),” is the title track from Plumb’s 2013 album. The album was released Feb. 26, 2013, through Curb Records.
“Need You Now” Continues to Find an Audience
The song has received exposure across multiple formats, including Clear Channel’s iHeartRadio Digital Artist Integration program.
Plumb has also spent the first half of the year on the road. Her recent schedule has included Winter Jam, Live in the Vineyard and a series of acoustic storyteller performances.
She also received a K-LOVE Fan Awards nomination for Female Artist of the Year.
That run will continue this fall with the Stories of Hope Tour. Rhett Walker Band and Jonathan Thulin will join Plumb for the tour, which is expected to visit markets across the United States.
