Hezekiah Walker, Tye Tribbett and VaShawn Mitchell will join forces this fall for the 22-city Bridge to Believe Tour.
The gospel tour begins Sept. 11 at The Potter’s House in Dallas and runs through Oct. 11 in St. Louis. New Gospel Entertainment is presenting the tour, which will visit churches and other venues across the country.
Rather than build the lineup around one sound, Bridge to Believe brings together three artists with different approaches to contemporary gospel music. As a result, the tour aims to reach listeners across generations.
Bridge to Believe Focuses on Unity
Walker said the combination could help the tour connect with a wider audience.
“I believe this tour has the power to reach multiple generations and reestablish gospel music in America,” Walker said. “By collaborating with Tye Tribbett and VaShawn Mitchell, we were able to bring a variety of styles into the mix, which really makes this tour stand out.”
Likewise, Tribbett said he was looking forward to sharing the stage with Walker and Mitchell.
“I feel so honored to be singing beside Hezekiah Walker and VaShawn Mitchell on this incredible tour that will usher audiences into the power of community worship,” Tribbett said.
Mitchell, meanwhile, pointed directly to the tour’s central theme.
“This tour is about unity,” Mitchell said. “This is the first time I will be collaborating with these artists. This tour will be about us coming together and giving praise.”
Beyond the concerts themselves, Impact Television Network will serve as the tour’s media partner. The network also plans to broadcast from select stops.
Three Different Voices in Gospel Music
Walker enters the tour following the success of “Every Praise” and his 2013 album, Azusa: The Next Generation. In addition, his catalog includes gospel staples such as “Souled Out,” “Grateful” and “I Need You to Survive.”
Tribbett also arrives with recent momentum. He released Greater Than in 2013, and the album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart. It also reached No. 9 on the Billboard 200.
Mitchell, meanwhile, released the God My God EP earlier this month. The project includes “God My God,” “Amaze Me” featuring Anthony Brown, “This Is to You” and “Your Name … The Moment.”
Those songs come from a two-city live recording in Chicago and Atlanta. Next, Mitchell plans to release the full-length album, Unstoppable, this fall.
Together, the three artists give Bridge to Believe a lineup that moves between choir-driven gospel, contemporary worship and more modern gospel production.
